Chasing Design
Ever since I can remember, I always loved to observe art and photos. I didn’t know why but the visual aesthetics of them meant something to me. As I grew, I realized that the principles and elements of design are what gives visual impact to the photographs. The often-overlooked elements such as lines, contrast, frames, and texture are what sparked my love for photography. When these elements are incorporated into a photo, it makes a more meaningful and effective image. For my project, I made photographs that purely focused on these design elements.
Two photographers who inspired me with their brilliant use of design are Marc Riboud and Josef Koudelka. Riboud and Koudelka capture photos emphasizing line, framing, balance, and spatial relationships, all inspiring to me.
